Join this 6 night, 7 day retreat in Bali, Indonesia for a mix of fiery flow practices balanced with rejuvenating restorative practices while exploring the mystique of this island, known for its beautiful rice fields, lush jungles, beaches and fiery volcanoes.
Every morning, our retreat hosts Alicia and Stephanie will guide us through breath work to create heat in the body in preparation for flow practices that will build strength and longevity. In the evenings, we’ll cool the fire with restorative practices including yoga nidra and yin. As we explore ease and effort, throughout the week we’ll invite you to consider and reflect on how those themes show up in your life with journal prompts.
Home to our co-founder Azma Ousmand, this Bali retreat is also curated to give you an insider’s experience. We’ll indulge in fresh, healthy and delicious foods that Bali is renowned for and partake in a cooking class to learn how to make some of its traditional dishes. There’ll be plenty of time to rest, explore waterfalls and beautiful beaches, shop in local markets, visit some of the most beautiful temples, and experience its local culture. Allow Mama Bali to nourish your mind, body and soul!
Steph’s approach to asana practice is dynamic and exploratory. You can count on the sequencing to develop to a peak pose, and it is always inspired by a theme, chakra, lyrics to a song, a piece of literature, art, seasonal changes, current happenings, and the list goes on. After all, the practice of yoga can be applied everywhere! She loves to learn from her students and from other instructors and is excited to see what this retreat teaches her too!
Alicia believes in the power of alignment to create a strong, stable asana practice that integrates full body awareness in each pose, while encouraging students to find what they need (not what they think the expectation might be). Thematically she relies on the breath to guide the practice in the present moment, and then draws from a variety of sources including books, lived experience, and current events. Alicia loves practicing whenever she’s traveling to learn from other teachers and get a sense of what local yoga communities are focusing on and to find fun new ways to approach asana.
